Dearest St Apollonia, I say “Peace be with you!”, and I bless God, and thank Him, for appointing you the patroness of dental concerns. I am the eldest child, now 59, single, a daily communicant since 1983, of Danny, 82, and Angela, 78, parents of seven and great-grandparents. I am currently resident in supported accommodation in Sydney, Australia. My parents took solicitous care of my, and my siblings, dental care when we were children, however, I, as an adult, have consistently neglected it. Additionally, as a long-term disability support pensioner, I have been unable to afford private dental care and have had to have recourse to the public system, with one result being that I have never had one regular dentist but have had to be treated by whoever was available – usually a student or someone relatively young and inexperienced. Consequently, my dental health is poor and I am, presently, troubled by toothache. I have read of witnesses in the Pentecostal churches attesting to a movement of the Holy Spirit, whereby a whole congregation was healed and renewed, dentally, during one particular praise and worship session. I earnestly beseech your intercession, on my behalf, that I, by a like movement of the Holy Spirit, be similarly dentally healed, restored and renewed, and that I, subsequently, be enabled to live a long, relatively holy life, in the Lord’s service, and die a happy, relatively holy, death. Finally, I appeal to your kindness, regarding a small apostolate I organise with my friend, David Marsh, 63, also a single disability support pensioner, (who had all his teeth removed some years ago), which we call “Mercy House”. Please pray that this work be acceptable in God’s sight, and that the Lord be pleased to make use of it for the salvation of souls and for the edification of the faithful.
